We're Back.. And Worse Than Ever. MEETING: 14th November
It's been a few months, the issue with being a student I suppose - all that exam stress and then the subsequent parties afterwards.
So, the next big meeting is 14th November 2010.
Starbucks, New Oxford St at 2pm.
We'll be upstairs, drinking copious amounts of coffee.
If you need any help, want a quick natter, fancy robbing a bank, leave me a comment, or contact me at my fanfiction.net profile.
Look forward to seeing you.
Holden.

MCM Expo: May 2010
I've helped to set up the London fanfiction meetings, with great success. I'm sure that there are others across the country who have helped set up meetings ibn various reigions of the United Kingdom - and now Europe! Well, I want to go one step further. I want to get a whole bunch of Fanfiction writers to come and meet up for a big ol' happy time at the MCM Expo at the end of this month!
MCM, for the uneducated, is Movies, Comics and manga. Recently, games developers have started showcasing their games there. I saw early code of Assassins Creed II at the October one. I'm sure there's going to be other big games this year, as well as movie announcements and, of course, shedloads of Manga and Anime.
OK, so, to business. There are a lot of writers out there, whether in the proverbial closet or not. And I'm sure a lot of writers will see this. And it's fair to assume a lot of those writers will be travelling to the Expo. I know people from Yorkshire that travel down, such is the attraction. Now, what would happen if a massive bunch of writers were to meet together and...talk! Not only can you share writing ideas and come up with new plots to expand upon, but it's a great way to meet new people.
I propose a large meeting of writers on the grass square at about 2:00 PM on the Saturday of the Expo. If you don't know what I mean, search for ExCel Centre London on Google Maps. It's pretty obvious, and you'll see what I mean when you get there.
So, how many people are coming? Feel free to leave a comment below so we have a rough idea of what to expect. tickets are on sale now from the MCM website at the Expo website, and will be on sale during the day. You won't need a ticket to meet us, but you will need one to enter the Expo itself.
So, feel free to leave a comment. Let us know how many of you are coming, and we can plan accordingly.
Make sure you add the RSS link for this blog as well, for future updates!
Much Love, ScourgeOTG.

See you all there.

Meeting: 11th April
April is upon us! Easter has been and gone, and it's time to get out of the house, run up and down the stairs and escalators on the underground and work off some of that chocolate.
So next meeting will be Sunday 11th April and held upstairs at Starbucks New Oxford St at 3.00pm. So same time, same place. If you need any help the wonderful Scourge has just opened the fanfiction hotline and we have many people to contact. Remember, Holden has her Blackberry; so emails are always answered.
Hopefully this post will be updated by the skilled fingers of Scourge, and a gorgeous map will be put on here to give you some directions...
See you all there.

Monday, March 22
Meeting: 28th March
March draws to an end, and the sun is finally out; you know what that means? Time for frappuccino's in Starbucks... say at 2pm? Maybe the one on New Oxford St?
I'm glad you agree, so it's settled.
Next meeting shall be 28th of March, 2pm at Starbucks New Oxford St. The regulars will be upstairs, sitting around looking lovely, as always.
Though, for anyone new who's interested in coming, send me an email and give me some suggestions on how to make us easier to find, we're starting to worry that people can't make out who we are. Maybe a sign? Rayokarna could come and meet you? Should I bring a sparkly bag? Or Scourge should wear something obvious? Let me know, my contact details are at the side there - drop me a line.
If that doesn't work, why not phone the handy "Fanfiction Hotline"; and ask Scourge to send one of us on a journey to find you, most of us are willing to travel central London, we can come and meet you at Tottenham Court Rd Station, it's cool, don't panic if you get lost.
Remember, we're lovely people, and we're always looking to expand the group.
See you soon boys and girls,
Holden Caulfield.

It's a standard set up this week as none of us regulars could decide what we wanted to do about this "field trip" So, here are the details of the exhibition, I implore people to go, it's a rare thing and hey, we all need a spot of extra culture in our lives.
It's the Arthur Ranson Exhibition at orbital comics, this man is a British comic LEGEND, the exhibition is retrosepective and I'm sure they'll have some goodies in the shop too, but it ends on the 14th of this month, so get their quick. Details of the opening hours and store stock can be found HERE
Directions:
It's recommended that you take the Picadilly Line or Northen Line to Leicester Square and walk the short distance up Charing Cross Road, and then turn down Great Newport St. If you get lost, you can check out the awesome arcade at the Trocadero, or go and see a film.

Monday, January 25
Meeting: Sunday 31st January.
Right, so 31st January is our next meeting, and as usual we will be meeting at Starbucks on New Oxford Street at 3.00pm. We seem to have claimed to spot behind the stairs in the name of the Neo-Writers, so for anyone who hasn't previously attended a meeting but wants to pop along, that's where you should be looking. We're an obvious bunch, don't be afraid to come over and ask if we are, in fact, the London fanfiction writers/Neo-writers.

Point A is Tottenham Court Road Station and B is where we'll all be.
The Central line and Northern line stop at Tottenham Court Road station if you're jumping on the tube. There are also numerous buses that pass through Tottenham Court Road or stop on New Oxford Street. Check the TFL site for the excellent journey planner, details of planned engineering works and other London transport queries.
See you there, boys and girls.

Important business!
The first is that, as you may have noticed, the web address for the blog has changed from fanfiction-central to neowriterslondon.blogspot.com. This is to keep it looking smart and cool and awesome and stuff. Make sure you change any links you may have leading to this blog to match what you see in the address bar. PROTIP: Alt+D, Ctrl+C and it's copied to your clipboard. Fast, eh?
The second peice of information is that HoldenCaulfield is now an updater on the blog, allowing me to focus on my college work, as well as organising the upcoming Expo Awesome properly. Say hello, people, and don't bite.
Much Love, SOTG.

FIELD TRIP Sunday 10th January
We're doing something a bit different this week. We're going to meet at Starbucks on New Oxford Street at 3pm and have a coffee or five, before we all head over to Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue. Don't worry if you don't know where Forbidden Planet is - we're all headed there together.
After the Planet, we'll be heading to the Trocadero in Leicester Square, which for those who don't know, if pretty much the arcade heaven of London. No high street can live up to this! Be sure to visit TokyoToys if you like Manga as well. I know the guy that owns it. (",)
Afterwards. we're going to a Pizza Hut for a meal. As you may have noticed, this means that you'll need money to enjoy the day.
Forbidden Planet, for those that don't know, is a cult store that caters for Doctor Who to Stargate, Marvel Comics to Manga. They sell merchandise and back-issues, and the store is loved by all who know it.
To find Starbucks, look here.

Well, I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday. We'll be upstairs in Starbucks, so look for the group talking about all sorts of things rather loudly....

The map shows where we're meeting - Go towards the little man! The marker shows where the nearest tube station is, and what lines run there. The red line is Central, and the black line is the Northern. For help getting to Tottenham Ct. Road, head to the Transport For London website and use the Travel Planner.
I look forward to seeing everyone there!

This is a picture of out new meeting point. Use the map underneath to work out how to get there. It's not that far from out old meeting point of Charlotte Street's Caffé Nero, so don't worry that much.
At 2:00 PM we will be meeting upstairs. However, please bear in mind that Starbucks is a very busy place, so we may have to relocate back to Caffé Nero. Those hat have been there know where it is, but I know that there's a chance new people will be arriving. That's why in the events that we have to move, I'll be there to catch you and tell you where to go. I'll be headed to Caffé Nero at 3PM, so if you arrive late and nobody is there, head to Charlotte Street.
Now, this brings up the matter of recognising. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'll be wearing a stripey jumper reading a manga. I'm tall with curly hair and wear glasses. Look for the awesome guy. (kekeke)
Now hat I've gotten off my arse and posted this, I can relax. =] I'll see everyone tomorrow!!

Another great meet
However, it's time. It's time to say that ANOTHER meeting is on Sunday the 20th of December!
The location, however, is not set. Due to our crowds tending to be quite loud and at time raucious, I'm concerned that Caffé Nero's staff may get unhappy soon.
If anyone, and I mean ANYONE, knows another larger location, leave me a comment and/or send me an email (scourgeofthegalaxy@gmail.com) with the address and if possible, a map.
If anyone can, please help. If we can't find a location, it'll be announced closer to the time that Caffé Nero is our destination again.
I hope you all have a good week and I'll let everyone know soon our new location. Or old, depending on the circumstances.
Much Love, SOTG.

Fanfiction meet on Sunday 13th of December
We'll be having another meetup at the same place on Sunday the 13th of December at the same place as before.
I hope everyone has a good week, and I'll see as many of you on Sunday!
Also, if these meetings get bigger, we'll have to look for another location to meet up at. Caffé Nero has a limited amount of space, so if anyone knows an easily accessible location in London, I'd be happy to hear it!
See you soon!
Nico / Scourgeofthegalaxy
Sunday, December 6
What a success!
The meeting today (6th December) was a success! We had five people turn up, six including me, and we really enjoyed ourselves!
To everyone who was unable to come, it's a shame we didn't get to meet you. However, there's always next time.
Today, we talked about our own fanfictions, reviews, fanfics we recommend and surrealy, being murdered by our own feet.
Well, it was nice to meethe people who turned up today. I hope to see more people next week!
Monday, November 30
OFF Meeting on Sunday 6th December
We have a meeting planned for the upcoming Sunday (December 6th 2009) for all you FanFiction authors and Fan Artists.
The address is Caffe Nero, 2 Charlotte Street, London at 2:00PM. A map can be found here.
We're meeting on the TOP floor, so you know - just in case you turn up and wonder why there's nobody talking about Fanfiction.
You will need to buy a coffee to be allowed in - I don't think Caffe Nero will appreciate people using their space without at least buying an Espresso.
Hope to see you there, everybody!
Scourgeofthegalaxy.
